Holo-y Flaky Goodness!

Hello everyone! I hope you're all enjoying your holiday weekend! Today, I'm going to show you a look I did with three polishes from my recent haul: Pandora by Zoya, Twisted by Fingerpaints, and Hefesto by HITS. I'll start off with a preview of the look I created, photos of each polish and a brief description of each, and then some more photos of the look! I also have a video posted at the bottom so you get an idea of how it looks in person.

Check out all that flaky goodness! This is a picture in the shade. In the sun, you get a beautiful holo rainbow effect.

This is Pandora. It's a really pretty mauved light pink and the formula works like a dream. Two coats gives you full opacity.

This is Twisted.... very nice flaky polish! It has flashes of orange, yellow green, blue, and pink! I used 2 coats in this look.

This beauty is Hefesto.... amazing holo topcoat. You can apply a thin coat and end up with a strong holo effect over any color. I only used one coat. You can only get this at Llarowe to my knowledge.
Now... onto the look! It is unbelievably stunning in person and these photos DO NOT do it justice at all! I also added a video at the bottom for you to get an idea of how it looks. In the sun, you get a very strong rainbow effect from Hefesto and get random flaky flashes. In the shade, you don't see the holo effect but you see a lot of flakiness. Now, for the photos!

In the sun

In the sun
Not the greatest photo but this is a decent representation of how the flakiness shows in the shade. In person, the color is a pearly, mauved, light pink.
And here's the video! Enjoy!

Hello readers! Here's another quick post showing you my current mani :) At first, I was going to sponge on the glitter to make it a gradient but i was in a rush so I just painted it on. Just ignore my cuticles, please... they look terrible lol. These photos were taken after a weeks wear.

Color Club- Love Em Or Leave Em

Hey all! Here's a quick post just to show you guys my favorite nude polish. I really don't like nude polish but this one is something special... It's a browned peachy color with a beautiful holoraphic finish. The holo effect is pretty strong and shines like crazy in the sun. I've had this on for a couple weeks now (mostly due to laziness lol) and it has lasted for the most part except for tip wear and growth. This is 3 coats with topcoat but you could probably get away with two. This is definitely a must have :)

Glow-in-the-dark Blood Spatter Nails for Halloween

Hello readers... long time no see! I finally have a chance to update this and just in time for Halloween this weekend! I went to a corn maze a couple of weeks ago and wanted to do some spooky nails so I did glow-in-the-dark bloodspatter :)

I used this tutorial to do the bloodspatter effect, which consisted of dipping a straw into a small puddle of nail polish and blowing directly onto my nails from the other end. It's probably a good idea to play around with the different angles and distances from where you blow the polish from so you get some interesting effects. This was soooo much fun to do! It was probably one of the messiest projects I've done but it was well worth it.

I used:
White- Alpine Snow by OPI
then two coats of Ghoulish Glow by China Glaze
Red- Drastic by China Glaze (near perfect jelly blood red)

And now for the nails... I still have this on almost 2 weeks later =P

And here's the glow effect! You have to "charge" it under the light for a bit but it looks amazing when it glows.
Happy Halloween :)

Busy =/

Hello readers.... it's been forever since I've posted and I apologize. Being a full-time student and having a job are taking a toll on me and I barely have time or energy to do anything. I promise I will update soon... maybe a week or two. I did a recent haul so I will post that up soon, as well as a look or two for Halloween. I will update this whenever I can but it will definitely not be as often as before so I apologize.

Plaid Nails :)

Hey everyone! This will be a short post showing the manis I did on my friends hands and my own hands! We went to the Scottish Highland Games in Pleasanton so we wore plaid and did our nails plaid!

I'm not going to post all the colors but if you want to know what something is, just let me know :) Also, if anyone is interested in a tutorial for this look, I will gladly post one!

Nfu Oh 61 silver holo :)

Hello readers :) Soo a couple weeks ago I received my order of Nfu Oh 61 and Aqua Base which is something I've been after for months now! Before I post pictures of it, I want to tell you all about it :)

When I received the bottle and took it out in the sun, I was slightly terrified and a bit disappointed. There was seriously no holo effect through the bottle! It just looked like a plain old silver to me and I was worried that I received a dud!

I decided that it was probably fine and I was overreacting so I decided to use it. The order of coats I used were Aqua Base, Nfu Oh 61, Aqua Base, Nfu Oh 61, Nfu Oh 61, and Seche Vite topcoat. I've heard mixed reviews about using topcoat... some people say that it dulls the effect and others say that it does nothing to the effect. I decided to give it a shot and if it made it look worse, then i would just redo it.

Now.... application.... oh my! That's all I gotta say. I've heard horror stories about applying this polish. Let me start off with Aqua Base. That's a tricky one on it's own. It's not like other polished where you can apply the next coat when it's halfway dry. No. You have to wait for it to completely dry before applying another coat. If you don't, the brush drags the below layer and makes it very chunky. So that's just one issue I had. As for Nfu Oh 61 itself, I'm not sure if it was chunky or if it was the Aqua Base that was the problem. If you do a couple thin coats of Nfu Oh 61 then you will get nice coverage and it will hide the majority of the lumps.

Now I just have a bit more talking to do and then I can show you the pictures ;-) At this point, you probably already scrolled down and looked lol. Indoors, this color just looks like a simple but really nice metallic silver. Now getting in the sun is the fun part. When you hold out your hands in the sun, all you see is a beautiful spectrum of linear rainbow colors. I really don't need to say much else so here are the pics :-) This lasted me about a week with no chipping and some wear at the tips.

Closeup! Ignore the dried topcoat in the cracks :-)

Work-appropriate nude look

Hello readers :) I apologize for not posting as much. I've been going through a lot of changes with my normal routine and it's throwing me off from what I'm usually doing =P A couple weeks ago, I got a job interview for a position in parking patrol and ended up getting hired right on the spot and there was only one spot!

Anyways, so I wouldn't scare the guy off with my black and red nails, I did something out of my comfort zone and did something very neutral. The picture below is 3 coats of Knotty by China Glaze, which is a really nice nude with cream shimmer, with one coat of Northern Lights which is a holographic glitter topcoat. As much as I dislike nude manicures, I ended up wearing it for about a week. It shined really nicely in the sun :)

22nd Birthday :)

Hello everyone! Sorry again for another drought! The past couple of weeks have been very hectic and making a blog past has unfortunately been the last thing on my mind.

Last week was my 22nd birthday and it was seriously the best birthday I've ever had thanks to my amazing friends :) I'm going to start off by showing you my bday manicure and then I will show you the pics from my party and talk about that!

This is 2 coats of Midnight in NY by Sally Hansen with 1 coat of Dorothy by Nyx Girls

Anyways back to my party! My friends and I had dinner at a restaurant called Opa! in Los Gatos, CA, which is a Greek restaurant. I don't know how I lucked out so much but we ended up having our own private room, complete with our own TV and bathroom! Here's a pic of our group! I'm at the head of the table =P

And now for a pic of my outfit :-)

Then we met up at Mt Charley's down the street for dancing! This is the other group of people we met up with! The girl in the blue has the same birthday as me and we decided to celebrate together :)

Then we ended the night with some shots! Ignore my friend in the background.... he was 10 shots and 2 beers in when we took this pic haha!

Anyways.... best birthday ever!

CG Flying Dragon Swatches + Glitter

Hello, all! Today I will be showing you China Glaze's Flying Dragon (Neon) with China Glaze's Techno! First I will start up with the mani I ended up with and then I will describe the wonders of Flying Dragon to you :)

Pretty sweet, yeah? Anyways, onto Flying Dragon! This color is absolutely amazing. It's a dark deep fuchsia with little blue and pinkish glitter. When you first apply it, it shows up as a bright neon fuchsia but it gets darker as it dries. The application of this polish is amazing! It dries very quickly so you can easily do 3 coats without having to wait. It's a very fun and interesting color and is a must-have in my opinion.

Enough talk... onto the swatches! It took me 3 painless coats for full opacity :) Also, it dries matte so I added SV as a topcoat to make it glossy! You can click on the images if you want to see them close up!

Suggestions please :)

Hey everyone! So I've been doing some thinking and I think it's about time I ask my followers about ways to improve my blog.

Is there anything content-wise I could improve on?
Is there something I do that you really like?
Is there a better way of showing off my manicures/makeup?
Is there something you would like to see more of?
Is there anything I need to add/remove that I constantly do?
Any questions/comments/concerns?

You guys can say whatever you want! I just really need some suggestions. You can be harsh if you need to and I won't be offended. Constructive criticism is what I'm looking for :) Thanks a lot!

Lazy 4th of July Manicure =P

Hey everyone! I hope you're all having a good 4th of July so far! I don't know exactly what I'm doing yet but all I know is BBQ and fireworks are in order!

Sooo for the past few days, I have been wearing a really nice manicure... 3 coats of OPI's hot pink matte and one coat of OPI's I Lily Love You. It is such a gorgeous color combo. I honestly could not get myself to take it off. For today, I wanted to do some stripes and more stars and fireworks on my nails and of course use red, white, and blue, but I couldn't get myself to take the pink off =P

I REALLY wanted to do some kind of 4h of July manicure so this morning, about 2 minutes after I opened my eyes, I got to work and started painting on firework designs. I used my silver nail art polish by Kiss Nail Artist Paint and the blue is Eyes Like Sapphires by China Glaze. The star sequins are Silver Star by Klean Color.

And just for kicks, here is what I was wearing for the past few days :)

Happy 4th everyone! Don't drink and drive! =P

SF Gay Pride Parade + Rainbow Leopard Print Mani + Random Mani

Hey everyone! Again, I apologize for the lack of posts so here is an awesome post to make up for it! This past Sunday, I went to the Gay Pride Parade in San Francisco, CA. It was my first time going and my friends and I had a blast! There were so many interesting things to see! People's choice of clothing (or lack of) was entertaining as well :P Soooo anyways, of course I had to do some kind of colorful mani! I decided to rainbow leopard print nails on top of white. I got inspiration from this post on Natalie's blog. I don't have the energy to name off all the colors since I used like 10 polishes so if you want to know what a color is, just ask. The brands I used were OPI, Sally Hansen, Zoya, China Glaze, and Color Club.

And here is how I did my makeup :) I used my Beauty UK palette and L'oreal H.I.P. eyeshadows for this look. Again, if you want to know specific colors, just ask! Not really "in your face" but still colorful :)

And here is what I wore! I did a white wifebeater, rainbow suspenders, a blue denim skirt, hot pink zebra head band, and hot pink sunglasses!

Oh and here's a picture of me failing miserably at hula hooping lol. I was so frustrated >___<

Soooo that was my first Gay Pride experience! That was definitely an awesome day that I will never forget!

In the title of this post, I mentioned a random mani..... so I'm going to show you what I did for my sister! The blue I used is Sexy In The City by China Glaze and the silver is the Kiss Nail Artist Paint & Stencil Kit which came with black, silver, and white. This was my first attempt at free-handing at nail art designs. This was pretty simple but I love how it turned out on her!

OPI DS Extravagance

Hey everyone! Sorry about not updating in a while. My "off week" finally ended but now I'm just being lazy lol. I really don't have too much to say or show.... but here is the mani I've been wearing the past week. This is 2 coats of OPI DS Extravagance. It's a really pretty purply raspberry color with a slight holo effect. It doesn't looks like much in the shade but it shimmers like crazy in the sun.

Also, look forward to a more artsy fartsy mani this weekend! I'm gonna have a little fun with color :) That's all for today!

Nfu Oh #51

Hello everyone :) Sorry for not posting in a while! I have had a really off week and haven't been able to focus on my normal routine. Anyways I'm finally getting the motivation to update! Last week on Monday 6/6, I painted my nails using Nfu Oh #51. I'm sure many of you have heard of it but if not, you may want to pay close attention!

There are probably not enough words or pictures to show you how amazing this color is but I will do my best =P #51 is a deep, bright, violet that is jelly-based and has colorful flakies in it that shine orange, yellow, pink, and green in different lighting. It's a pretty sheer color so it's best to layer it over some opaque color such as purple, blue, or even black. It's a really fun color to experiment with but I like layering it over purple the best.

Also take a look at how beautiful the bottle itself is. It has a gorgeous bustier and corset design and the color of the polish through the bottle is the prettiest rainbow in a bottle :)

In the following pictures, I have it layered over 2 coats of Señorita Bonita by China Glaze, which i would describe as a medium-toned purple with a slight shimmer. It's a lot lighter than the purple in #51 so it doesn't override the purple I would rather show. Then, I put 2 coats of #51 and a layer of Seche Vite to seal it all in.

Here are the photos! I am still wearing this mani so some of these pictures are from today and some are from last week. I will make a note of which is which.

Taken 6/6 in direct sunlight. See how gorgeous the bottle is?
Even after 6 days of wear, the color hasn't even chipped. It only shows slight signs of wear at the tips and nail growth by the cuticle. This is definitely one of the more long lasting polishes I've tried.

So what do you guys think? Have you tried this polish before? If you have any photos of layering this over other colors, I would love to see! I hope you guys enjoy this post as much as I do.This is one of my favorite nail polishes and I totally recommend it. You can only order it at FabulouStreet, They have a bunch of other amazing colors for sale so definitely check them out!
