Hello everyone! I finally decided to give it a go and tried a nail art design that looked like a galaxy in outer space. I used a tutorial by MissJenFABULOUS from PolishAndPearls and used this tutorial she posted on youtube.
It was actually very fun and easy to do! It consisted of sponging on colors over black and putting a couple types of glitter topcoat over it. Before I did the design on myself, I picked out some colors I liked from myself and tested it over the black to make sure it delivered the effect I was looking for. I noticed it's best to use opaque colors, either with a creme finish or with little to no shimmer.
Here's what I used:
Liquid Leather by China Glaze (black)
Splish Splash by China Glaze (shimmery blue)
Pelican Grey by China Glaze(light grey)
Pink Shock by Maybelline (pink with subtle blue shimmer)
Northern Lights (glitter topcoat)
Techno by China Glaze (chunky glitter)
Aaaaaaand this is what I ended up with!
I really loved how it turned out. It definitely looks best when the colors are applied in different parts of the nail. This would definitely look nice with some green and orange in it so I might be attempting that in the future. Also, after I get some practice, I think it would be awesome to throw some spiral galaxies on it as well. I tried that at first and it was an utter fail -___-
Have you tried doing galaxy nails before? I would love to see some of the designs you've tried or came up with :)

Layla Flash Black Swatches (warning: pic heavy)
Hello readers! I'm going to show you the most amazing holographic nail polish I've ever seen! It's called Flash Black by a brand called Layla. I got it from Ulta. This color is just wow... it's a charcoal grey/blackish color with a very strong holographic effect.
These photos honestly don't do it justice. It has a much stronger holographic effect in person. With the exception of the photo of my nails under the lamp, all of them were taken the next day. It had a little bit of tipwear... I didn't use any base or topcoat. Just 3 coats of Flash Black. Now, on to the photos!
Oooh also check out my video if you want to see the color in action! Click here or find it on the bottom of this post :)
And now for the video!

30 Seconds to Mars Mani :D
Boy am I excited!!!! Tonight I'm going to see 30 Seconds to Mars live for the first time ever!! I decided to do a 30STM manicure based off of the tattoo that Shannon Leto has on his arm (pointer-pinky), as well as the logo on the Kings and Queens album (thumb). I am soooo in love this this manicure and I can't wait to rock it out tonight!
What I used:
Grey- Loredana by Zoya
Red- Ruby Pumps by China Glaze
White- Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen
Seche Vite topcoat

More from Anchors Away!
I saw someone else try this color combo and I thought I would give it a try! The basecoat is two thick coats and I put one coat of shimmer over it. Both Pelican Grey and White Cap are from the Anchors Away collection by China Glaze.
Grey base- Pelican grey by China Glaze
Gold shimmer- White Cap by China Glaze
Music notes color- Black Out by Sally Hansen XtremeWear
Music notes design- Konad M73
This is very nice and shimmery in person! I didn't really like Pelican Grey by itself but it looks awesome with White Cap over it!
