Vampire Halloween Makeup

Hello readers, it's been so long since I've typed up a post on here. My hard drive crashed a couple months ago and I recently was able to recover my data and get back into the funk of things.

Today I wanted to show you something I haven't done before, which is a look for Halloween. The following look was inspired by this tutorial created by EMAN. I fell in love with the mysterious and edgy look and decided to recreate it with some of the makeup I had.

For the eyes, all the shadows I used were from my 120 eyeshadow palette which includes a full range of reds, purples, blacks, and whites, which are the colors needed to create the look. I purchased this specific palette from eBay and I like it because the colors are rich, pigmented, shimmery, and blend well. They last pretty long on their own but work even better with primer underneath. If you would like to see a review of the palette by Nihrida, click here! I found very similar colors from the tutorial in the palette and followed EMAN's directions accordingly. Blending all the colors together was relatively easy to do. I found the hardest part of this look to be perfecting the point of the inner corners of the eyes since I have never tried a look like that before. After a few tries, I finally got it. I finished the eyes off with mascara. I used Rimmel's Lash Accelerator, which is AMAZING!

After the eyes were done, I cleaned everything up and added a new layer of foundation and blush. The foundation I use is Bare Minerals Matte in Golden Fair and the blush I use is Luminoso by Milani, which is a shimmery peachy blush.

Lips are last (as quoted by Carmindy from What Not To Wear) so I used Loreal Infallible Gloss in Rebel Red topped off with Rimmel's Smokey Finish lipstick from the Kate Moss collection. It's really fun to layer on top of red, hot pink, or magenta, especially in the evening. It adds a sheer, smoky, silvery, shimmery glitterness to it lol.

And noooooowwwww for the final look! I have an all-over face shot followed by some other shots so you can see the colors in different lighting... also a closeup of the lips which used to be a true, deep red along with the Smokey Finish on top. I hope you like it :)

Purple, Blue, and Silver Glitter Gradient!

Hey everyone :D So I finally took off that plain-jane look and put on something really funky! I finally attempted a glitter gradient! I've always wanted to try it and I finally got the right kinds of glitter nail polish. Here's the look I came up with :-)

It is soooo dang sparkly and eye-catching in the light! I seriously can't stop looking at it! Here are the materials I used:

Base coat- Orly Top 2 Bottom

Navy blue base- Midnight Blue by Rimmel

Fuchsia glitter- Bubbly Bombshell by Orly

Pink/purple/blue glitter- Rockstar Pink by Sally Hansen

Silver/purple/blue chunky glitter- Starry Silver Glitter by NYC

Seche Vite Topcoat

I first applied my base coat and then put one coat of Midnight Blue so I wouldn't have to do so many layers of glitter. Then, I put one coat of Bubbly Bombshell completely covering the blue. On the top half of my nail (tip), I used Rockstar Pink.

Then I used two coats of Starry Silver Glitter on the very tip and aimed more of the chunky glitter on it. To make the colors blend better, I wiped the majority of the glitter off the brush and lightly dabbed over the other colors so little silver glitters came off.

To finish it off, I used 2 coats of Seche Vite :-) Here is a closeup of the look to your right. You can click on it for a larger image.

My new favorite lipstick!

Thanks to Wendi from MakeupZombie, I found my new favorite shade of pink lipstick called "Just So" by Rimmel! It looked so perfect with her complexion, which is similar to mine so I had to give this a try. The texture is really nice... smooth and creamy! I got it from target for around $5-6. If your skin/hair color is anything like mine. I totally recommend it.

Rimmel Glam Eyes Day 2 Night Mascara Review

Well here is my first mascara review! Last week, I picked up Rimmel Glam Eyes Day 2 Night since I've never tried it before and I liked the idea of having a day to night look. If you want a closeup, just click on the image.

Here is a picture of the mascara. I picked up the color "Extreme Black".

This shows how it works. If you want length, you just unscrew the pink one and if you want volume, just unscrew the pink one.

Right: lashes without any mascara. Left: lashes with lengthening mascara. I didn't curl my lashes. in any of these pics. I don't even own a lash curler ^^ I just have really long eyelashes =P Also, it looks like I put mascara on the bottom but that's just from eyeliner.

In general I like this mascara. The only problem I really had with it is that the volumizing mascara can get a little clumpy. I had to use a toothpick to separate a couple lashes, which isn't too big of a deal to me. Also, don't use the volumizing one on your bottom lashes. Just use the lengthening one and you're good to go!

Another good thing i that it doesn't leave all those little black flakies below your eyes! I wore it all day and it lasted just fine!

Would I buy this again and do I recommend it? Absolutely yes!! Has anyone else tried this mascara? Do you think you will try it?
