Color Club Halo Hues- Angel Kiss Swatch & Review!

Hello everyone! We finally got some decent sunshine in my part of California so I thought it was time to finally whip out one of the Color Club Halo Hues holo's that I bought! I have to say... this color is amazing! It's a light seafoamy green with a bluish tint to it. Indoors, it can look anywhere from a pearly finish to a faint holographic finish, but when you take it out in some bright light, you won't believe your eyes!

This polish has such an amazing holographic finish! It's very smooth and vibrant and you won't be able to take your eyes off of it. Applying this wasn't bad at all. The first layer was slightly streaky but if you apply a thin/medium coat and then apply a second thicker coat, you should be fine. My swatches have one coat of Seche Vite base coat, 2 coats plus of Angel Kiss, plus one coat of Seche Vite QD topcoat. The best thing about this polish is that the holo effect doesn't dull after applying topcoat.

It's funny... after I bought this nail polish, I decided to browse through other people's blogs and see what they had to say about it. I came across one user (don't remember who and won't say the name anyways) and she wrote that one of the major cons to this collection is that the holo effect wasn't very strong... Lol what? I'm sorry, I don't know how much more of a holo effect you want lol. This is probably the strongest holographic finish I own! Sorry for the rant, I'm still shaking my head at what I read lol.

Anyways, onto the swatches! Brace yourselves!

Indoors w/ Flash
Indoors w/ Flash
Indoors w/ Flash and Underwater white balance
Bottle shot! Indoors w Flash
Indoors w/o Flash
Indoors w/o Flash in darker lighting
Outdoors w/ direct sunlight
Now tell me, is this the most amazing nail polish or what? I'm so crazy about it and I can't stop staring at my nails! They are very distracting haha! I can't to get some from the Spring 2013 collection. What do you think of this? Do you own any of the polishes from the Halo Hues collection?

Neon Plaid Nails

Hello readers. I'm going to show you my current manicure that I've been wearing since this past weekend. In honor of the Scottish Festival in Santa Cruz County, I wanted to do my nails plaid like I did last year (click here to see last year's mani).

Since it's summertime and I felt like doing something fun, I ended up doing bright neon colors that were inspired by Nailside's Neon Plaid manicure seen here. Rather than using tape like she did, I used a striping brush to do all the designs.

Here are the colors I used in order of application:
White- Alpine Snow by China Glaze
Pink shimmer topcoat- Femme Fatale by Color Club
Yellow- Glowstick by Orly
Lime green- In The Limelight by China Glaze
Pink- Oh Cabana Boy! by Orly
Orange- Melt Your Popsicle by Orly
Darker lime green- Turned Up Turquoise by China Glaze
Finally topped off with Seche Vite

Now for some photos :) I hope you like it! My eyes are literally burning from staring at these photos for the past 15min :P

Spoiled- I'm So Jaded with HITS Hefesto Holo Topcoat

Hello readers. Today I'm going to show you a color that I've been dying to try since I bought it. This is I'm So Jaded by Spoiled, which is a collection from Wet 'n' Wild.  This color is so awesome... It's a neon lime green with gold/yellow shimmer in it. It's definitely one of those must-have greens! I especially liked it because it reminds me so much of Limonyte by China Glaze, which I've been lemming for ages!

As much as I love this color, I hated applying the polish itself. I think it was a combination of the brush and the formula. The brush was very bristly and harsh, which dragged on the polish and didn't let me apply a smooth coat. The next issue I had was the formula. It was pretty thick and a bit on the goopy side. I had to carefuly apply 3-4 thin coats to get good coverage. It ended up being very messy since I couldn't reach near my cuticles easily. I actually had to re-do a couple of my nails because the application was so terrible and there was no saving it.

Here's a photo of I'm So Jaded, followed by a closeup of the thumbnail so you can see the shimmer:

I then decided to add a holographic topcoat on top called Hefesto by HITS. This topcoat looks amazing on just about anything and it adds a little extra in the sun :-) Here are some photos of I'm So Jaded with Hefesto on top!

What do you think? Do you like this combo?

Color Club Silver Holo & Neon Green Swatches

Hey everyone :) I've been sooo busy the past couple days and I finally have a night in where I get to update my blog! As you could see from my last post, I bought a bunch of Color Club polishes. Over the past few days, I wore Glitter Envy and Worth The Risque. Before I go into too much detail about them, how about some swatches? :-)

Here is Worth The Risque:

This color was pretty sweet! It's a really nice silver holo. This color was surprisingly hard to photograph considering how strong the holo effect was in the sun. The second picture was the most rainbow I could capture. I promise you though, it shines even more in person! These pictures DO NOT do this polish justice! This picture has 3 coats and one coat of Seche Vite since it dried quickly but you could probably get away with 2.

And now for Glitter Envy:
I am beyond impressed with this color! It is so dang bright and eye-catching! This is one of the coolest neon greens I own. It has really interesting glitter in it. It's not super shiny or sparkly-- it's almost matte looking and kinda whitish yellow! Also, you can't feel the glitter after it dries so it doesn't have that dry, rough feeling. It stays nice and glossy!  If you click on the pic, you can get a better idea of what I'm talking about. The formula was a bit streaky but it honestly ended up applying amazingly. It dried very quickly and had a matte finish to it. This photo has 3 coats and 1 coat of Seche Vite.

What do you all think of these? I looooove em :)

Lime Green Mani :D

Hey everyone! I've finally had a chance to update. This week has been ridiculous since all my final papers are due this week, I have finals over the next 2 weeks, and I've been squeezing friends in between lol. Anyways, I've finally redone my nails since the other one chipped off and I also accidently broke a nail so I had to cut all of them =/

What I used:
Green- In the Limelight by China Glaze
Yellow shimmer- Lighthouse by China Glaze
Design- Konad M79
Black- Black Out by Sally Hansen XtremeWear

In The Limelight was really interesting to use. It dried very quickly and had a matte finish to it. It was a little streaky at first but after doing 3 coats, it turned out nice and opaque. I've seen a bunch of people try Lighthouse over random greens and blues so I thought I would give it a try. I really love how it turned out over the green! It reminds me of a lemon-lime margarita haha!

Nubar Reclaim swatch + mani!

I finally got to trying out my new Reclaim by Nubar polish! This is officially my first non-glitter holographic nail polish and I am in LOVE!!! This green is soooo pretty. It doesn't look like much when you're indoors but wow, does this baby sparkle in the sun!
Here's a closeup of the holo effect.
To make it a little more interesting and springtimey, I used my new Konad plate M78 and added some butterflies =)

St. Patty's Day Look!

Whoooo today is St. Patty's day which means lots of green and drinking irish car bombs =P To celebrate, I did my nails and my makeup green!
I also did my makeup green! Sorry for the bad lighting. I did this at night =P

I used one of those single Cover Girl Eyeshadows in Lime green all over the lid (forgot the actual name, sorry!),

L'Oreal H.I.P. eyeshadow duo in Gunmetal. I used the dark green on the outer edge and in the crease. Then I used the brownish green color to extend the crease.

To blend the top part, I used Revlon ColorStay Mineral Finishing powder.

And for liner, I used Maybelline Line Stiletto Liquide Liner

To finish it off, I used my new Day 2 Night mascara!

Whoa is that a mermaid?

Wow this is probably one of the most gorgeous colors I own!
This is Charla by Zoya! It's like a mermaidy bluish greenish teal with slight gold flecks.

This picture does not do it justice at all. It shines like crazy in the light! I got a lot of compliments on this one!

I used 2 coats of Charla with my usual Top 2 Bottom Base/Top coat.

Interesting dark green!

This is Edyta by Zoya. This is soooo pretty!
It's a dark forest green that shows gold shimmer in the light. It looks black from a distance.

I did two coats of it for opacity. The formula is nice too- not streaky and goes on thick!

I used Orly Top 2 Bottom as a base and top coat.
